Can I really get a quote and contract directly on this site?

Yes, you can! In the first of its kind for non-domestic users, PYO Energy enables you to enter your details and get real-time quotes for your business use, all you need to decide is which quote to accept and then proceed to contract. Contracts will then be prepared by your chosen supplier and emailed to you to review and sign. The process is completely automated and at no point will be you called or contacted by any brokers, agents, or suppliers.

Am I going to be bombarded with calls or emails from brokers or suppliers?

In short, the answer is NO our website provides you with direct access to the supplier market. No brokers or agents will call or email you. You will receive an email from us with a username login and password for the system, this enables you to leave and come back to your quotes. The only other emails you will receive will be an email with your contract if you have chosen one from our system and any other emails that may pertain to your contract either through us or directly with your chosen supplier.

Are you really cheaper and if so, how?

The system used has been in development for years, as a result, we are now able to offer this fully automated system without the need for brokers, or large offices and other administrative costs which are ultimately added to the cost of your energy contract. As we are so streamlined and have such a low-cost base, we believe in delivering those savings to you the commercial energy customer. And as a result, we genuinely feel we will be offering the lowest possible prices.

How does your system work?

Our system continuously refreshes its data with all the suppliers on our system and links to their updated prices. Our system translates millions of items of code, data and prices which allows commercial users of energy to directly request and receive quotes from dozens of suppliers almost instantly. You compare these quotes pick the best offer for your business and proceed to contract.

Why have prices been so high recently?

Gas and Electricity prices are not fixed and are tradable commodities and as a result, prices change all the time. As we have seen recently in times of political, and economic upheaval, or times of supply concern or disruption will result in dramatic price changes, and these are nearly always upward. Prices do occasionally level off or fall but the pattern for the last 20 years has been significantly upwards.

You claim to be the first publicly available site to do this is this true?

Yes, as of February 2024, our system is the first system of its kind to offer commercial energy users the chance to ask for and receive quotes and proceed to contract directly with dozens of suppliers. Some domestic versions of this exist but tend to only offer a few suppliers but nothing for commercial users has come to market yet.

Do you work with all the suppliers? And if not, why?

In the last few years, many suppliers have gone bankrupt, which has caused upheaval and distress to millions of customers and as a result we only collaborate with larger suppliers, those that are financially stable and suppliers that have good standing with their customers.

I have requested information, but I did not get any quotes.

There could be several reasons for this, please check that you have entered all your details correctly. Reasons for not receiving a quote could be.

  • Incorrect data entered.
  • Outstanding debt(s) owed on the account.
  • Large recent changes up or down in your energy usage.
  • Incorrect credit score entered.
  • Change of tenancy, if you have just taken over a new business which was previously under a different name a change of tenancy agreement will need to be submitted.
  • Data mismatch.
  • Supplier risk assessments, all energy suppliers risk manage potential contracts. We have no control over any supplier's risk management policies.

I have requested information but only got a few or only one quote.

There can be several reasons for this the key ones being:

  • Low energy usage, if your annual consumption is below 50,000 KWH not all suppliers will quote for a contract of this size.
  • Recent change of ownership.
  • A new company that as yet has not filed annual returns.
  • Sole trader or other unverifiable company status.
  • Previous debt.
  • Incorrect credit score entered.
  • Supplier risk assessments, All energy suppliers risk manage potential contracts. We have no control over any supplier's risk management policies.

Why do you need my company’s credit score?

Sadly, like most things now to get a contract for anything a credit file check is now part of that process. All energy suppliers run through a process of risk management.

How do I get my company's credit score?

If you do not know your company's credit score, if you are a large company then check with your finance department they should know it, if not then several websites offer a free service to check what your credit score is. However, you will need to register some details to receive this. You can proceed without entering a credit score though this may affect and reduce the number of quotes received and potentially increase the cost of these quotes as suppliers might factor in a “risk element” on the prices given.

Can I get one contract for multiple meters at the same time?

Unfortunately you can’t as each meter is essentially a charging point for suppliers, and will have different usage, so if you have multiple meters in the same premises you will need to load the details in for each one. You claim this will save me time how?

On our website you have the power of choice without the need to use a broker and the additional costs that might involve. You may decide to try and contact suppliers directly, well there are dozens of energy suppliers in the UK. To contact all of them and receive quotes could take hours or even days collating all the quotes received.  And then to compare them all to see which is the overall best price will also take time and with a volatile “live” marketplace where prices can change not only daily but also on an hourly basis. With PYO Energy you will get quotes from dozens of suppliers almost instantly (often under 1 minute)  you decide what’s the best option for you based on these quotes click to proceed to contract and your locked in at that price, contracts prepared and sent to you in minutes.

How long can I get energy contracts for, and will the quote show me options?

The quotes you will receive will be from one year up to 5 years in length you will be shown all available quotes in the length of a contract as well as by prices. When you get to the quotes screen you can filter these quotes by clicking on the column headers.

My existing contract hasn’t expired yet how far in advance can I look for a new quote?

Right now you can go on to our system and look for quotes for your next energy contract up to 6 months in advance and fix the price for the term of the Contract.

You mention PYO Utilities, who are PYO Utilities?

PYO Energy is our entirely automated online energy website, PYO Utilities is our sister company which offers more traditional commercial energy contract procurement with well-trained and experienced staff and Brokers who are on hand to help with any queries you may have.
